As part of our ACL campaign lobby, the "We Count Too" website is up and running. It includes information about the joint CUPE, employer and parent lobby postcard campaign to pressure the government for improved funding for the developmental services sector.

All locals are asked to please approach their employer and ask them to join the local in disseminating the postcards as widely as possible. At the same time you can ask about developing a joint lobby strategy if you have not already had the discussion. This must be done as soon as possible as we need to ensure a large number of postcards are submitted to the provincial government this month!!!!
If the employer is not willing to meet or commit to a joint strategy then locals are asked to move forward on their own. Please try and think of every contact possible to send the postcard to all family and friends, members of the local, management, parents of supported individuals, service organizations, faith groups, recreational groups --- get creative and get the postcards out!!!!
If possible try to encourage people to use the website. Locals can also copy the postcard (two postcards per double sided sheet then cut them) onto card stock paper and circulate hard copies. To make it easier we suggest you Ask people to fill them out and give them back to the local rep so we can ensure they get mailed off.
Lets be sure the province gets the message!!!!!
